Run Computer Program Faster

A faster computer is a good thing--it's a happy thing. But sometimes it's hard to get a computer to go fast. Learn how to speed up just a single computer program instead.

Step1
This procedure could lock up your computer. Save everything before continuing.
Step2
Start the program you want to speed up.
Step3
Hit the key combination Ctrl+Shift+Esc to instantly appear at the Windows Task Manager.
Step4
Click on the "Applications" tab.
Step5
Right click on the application you're running. Select "Go To Process."
Step6
Right-click the highlighted app. Select "Set Priority." When the menu expands, select an option higher than what it is currently set to. "High" is a good starting point.
Step7
Click "Change priority" at the dialogue box that pops up.
