Copy or Rip a DVD to your Hard drive so you Don't Have to Carry around the disc

Ever want to take a DVD with you on a long trip but didn't want to carry the actual disk with you? Well I am going to show you how to do just that. We will copy/rip a DVD onto your hard drive that you can watch from your computer anytime you want! No more carrying tons of DVDs with you. The best part is the movie you create will only be about 700MB so if you have a big hard drive that is a lot of movies!

Step1
Download E.M. DVD Copy for free. (link in Resources area) Install the software without changing any of the default settings. This is the software the will copy/rip the DVD for you.
Step2
Download ffdshow for free (link in Resources area) Install using the default settings. This software tells your computer what type of codec the movie uses so you can play it back.
Step3
Insert you DVD into the DVD player.
Step4
Open E.M. DVD Copy. On the opening screen you will pick rip. The difference between rip and copy is rip will make it so your computer can use it from the hard drive, dvdcopy will do just that so you can copy to a back up disc.
Step5
Now choose Wmv (windows) or AVI. I use AVI but some systems prefer WMV you may have to try both to see what works for you.
Step6
Now the program will automatically open your DVD. Do not change anything on this screen. Click OK.
Step7
On the next screen hit the plus sign next to your DVD. If there is more than one title selected un-check everything but the title with the most time on it. This is the main movie. On the bottom left select your file output name and folder. Hit rip.
Step8
Walk away for a while and let the system finish. Remove your DVD from the drive. Find the output file you named in Step 7. Doubleclick and enjoy! You now have copied/ripped a copy of your DVD onto your hard drive for viewing while traveling.

Clear Your Cache

Cache Getting A Bit Much?
Clearing your cache can make your computer run faster, and be more productive! It's a really simple process, here's how to do it!

Step1
Cache equals Cash First off, I know it's not part of the article, but cache is pronounced "cash" or "kash", just a heads up.

Step2
I just like this picture, the next one will be different The first thing you are going to do once your computer it booted up all the way, is open an Internet Explorer window and let it load.

Step3

The Internet has arrived! Once Internet Explorer is done loading your home page, go to Tools, and then to Internet Options. It is usually the last option on the drop down bar.

Step4
Some more internet! In Internet Options there will be a tab named "General" and in that tab there will be a option that says "Browsing History" and in that area there will be a delete option. We're almost to that durned cache, we're in the home stretch!

Step5
You can now delete Temporary internet files, cache, any web sites you have been to lately, passwords that are saved, and that kind of thing. Way to go, we just took out the computer trash, and you don't even have to wash your hands like you would for the household trash!

Clear Cookies From Safari On Mac Computer for Beginners

Your pretty little Mac is acting up and someone tells you to remove cookies. What the heck is a cookie? They sound delicious, but I guess they have to go. I'm a complete techno-beginner, but I figured out how. Here's how.

Step1
Open Safari and select Preferences. Once you're in Preferences, look at the very top of the page, not into the body. Up on top you'll see icons. One of these icons will be Security.
Step2
Click on Security and a page will open that will show you cookies. Point your curser to cookies and open this.
Step3
Another page will open showing you a window that allows you to view every cookie. Down at the bottom, you have the option of clicking on Remove. Click on that.
Step4
A box will open up asking you if you want to remove all the cookies. If you do, just say ok, and all the cookies will magically disappear. That doesn't mean, however, that your computer will stop acting up. But it will get rid of your cookies.
